USA Rare Earth announced a $2.8B deal to acquire Serra Verde Group, a Brazilian rare earth mining and processing company. The deal is part of a broader US push to onshore critical mineral supply chains, reducing dependence on Chinese-controlled sources. Serra Verde operates one of the largest rare earth deposits in the Americas.
